Creative Energy and Inspiration can be closely related. You may feel awe while in the process of creating, or at the sight of something someone else has created. You may also have had a moment of Inspiration that you feel compelled to capture and express in a creative way.
As you reflect on your month spent with Inspiration today, think about ways you can use your Creative Energy to sum up what inspires you. A few weeks ago, we posted a few ways to record the inspirational stories and moments from the Olympic Games. Consider one of those, or try this suggestion below.
Create an Inspiration Board
Download and print out our Inspiration Board to capture the details of a moment of awe you felt this summer.
Begin by becoming aware of what has inspired you this month, and all of the details surrounding it. Where were you? Who were you with? What sights, sounds, smells do you remember?
Once you feel fully aware of the details of the moment, fill it in with your thoughts and images from the occasion. If you have more than one photo, or have more to say than fits in the space allotted, don’t worry—feel free to reorganize the board in a way that works for you!
When finished, reflect on the experience. How did recalling an inspirational moment feel? What did you learn about yourself when using your Creative Energy to capture your feelings of awe?
Afterwards, paste the board into a scrapbook or journal for later reflection, or hang it somewhere where you will see it as a daily reminder of your Inspiration. You can even make it a ritual by printing out a new board each month to record your Inspirational moments.
We’d love to see your Inspiration Board and hear about the ways you like to capture your Inspiration using creativity. Leave a comment below, or post a photo of your creation on our Facebook page.

I feel that I have been blessed creatively in so many ways. I get inspired when I look at the sky. Everyday I look at the same piece of sky, and it is never the same. Sometimes it is the deepest blue, others it is very light and streaked with light wispy clouds. Other times it is gray, with clouds that are heavy with rain. Sometimes it is streaked with blue. purple, pink or orange red. It is an ever changinfg work of art…It is beautiful, and inspiring. I have tried painting what I see, yet I can never truly capture it’s true beauty, it’s essence. I’ve tried writing about it here, but I can not do it justice. But it soooo inspires me!
@ Wendy – like your post. I live in the country, i sit on my back porch early in the morning before the sun is up and watch the sky, i feel peaceful watching it and somewhat sad that those hours in the day only last so long- anyways, i know what you mean.
This is just beautiful. I look out my window often while I’m reading, laying on my bed. I especially love to watch it when it rains. It’s threatening it right now, nice rolling thunder. I’m inspired by nature in so many ways but sometimes I feel that I cannot get in touch with how to turn that inspiration into action. Perhaps I am too distracted by the rest of the world?
Nikki, I have seen many of your post on here. I do believe that we tend to get distracted by all the noise of the world. We let worries get in the way and block our creativity. I know that I let that happen for too long. I find so many ways to tap into that creative energy, I love to make things, and give them as gifts, or donate them to one of the many charitale organizations in my area. I think that when I tap into that energy, it creates more energy, especially when I am giving it away. I have read many of your posts on this website, I believe that you have a creative way of helping people. You are an encourager, and you write beautifully. Listen to the rain….it’s calling you to do something…:)
