Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and to celebrate, cerra™ is dedicating the Intention of Gratitude to the mothers and motherly figures in our lives. Without these women, many of us wouldn’t have become the people we are today.
GRATITUDE BEGINS WITH AWARENESS
Each day we are surrounded by reminders of our abundance, but often we are too busy to realize the value in the people and possessions around us. When you are mindful of the world around you, it becomes easier to acknowledge the things you have and express appreciation for the people you cherish most.
For many of us, our mothers or mother figures worked tirelessly to give us all that they could. Love. Kindness. Wisdom. But it’s the small, personal details that make them so important in our lives.
GRATITUDE IS IN THE DETAILS
Every mother is different, and their unique ways of showing love and compassion make them special. She might have, for example, slipped an encouraging note into your lunch, or taught you the importance of having an open mind. Maybe she showed you to how to balance your checkbook, or stressed the value of always showing up on time. Can you think of something that you learned from your mother or motherly figure that demonstrates her wisdom or loving kindness?
GIVING BACK TO THOSE WHO GAVE SO MUCH
Selflessness is often considered a part of a mother’s job description, but the sacrifices mothers make shouldn’t go unnoticed. It’s never too late to show your Gratitude. Here are a few ways you can show the mothers in your life how much they’re appreciated.
- Send a handwritten note or call her to tell her why you feel grateful for her
- Get her a present, or better yet, make her a present
- Gather her friends for a surprise party
- Take over her responsibilities and give her a “Mom’s day off”
There’s nothing you can buy her to reflect the impact she’s had on your life, so expressing your Gratitude can be the greatest gift of all.
